Reading Group on Revolutionary Feminism in New York City

The first meeting of the New York City reading group of Revolutionary Feminism: Communist Interventions, vol. III is now scheduled.

NYC Revolutionary Feminism Reading Group

First Meeting: Thursday, September 10, from 7 to 9 PM, The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, at 208 W. 13th St. in Manhattan, in Room 110.

Subsequent meetings (starting September 17): Thursdays, 7-9 PM, location TBD each week.

For the first meeting, read Week 1 The Origins of Orthodoxy (Frederich Engels, Origins of the Family, Private Property and the State). As we will be spending some time getting to know each other and discussing our expectations and hopes for the group, we may not complete the discussion of Week 1, and continue it the following Thursday.

We also have an ongoing Facebook page, to announce information after the first meeting:

The NYC group also has an email list, Excited participants are welcome to join the list.

For more information about the NYC group, or to be added to the email list, write Michelle at

Two other NYC groups, likely a bit smaller, are also being considered and will be organized based on interest. One will likely be based in Brooklyn on Wednesday evenings. The other is hoped for in Jackson Heights, day TBD. To be in touch with the point people for both groups, write the email above.

Bring a couple of dollar to chip in towards renting the space.
